A passion for people and technology: Meet our new Senior Manager, Riikka Oksanen

We’re delighted to welcome Riikka to ALTEN Finland! With over 15 years of experience in sales and leadership roles across the tech and IT sectors, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for both people and technology. 

A strong foundation in tech and business 
Riikka holds a Master’s degree in Economics and began her career through a Nordic Sales Trainee programme. “That experience gave me a solid foundation in solution selling and a structured way of thinking about customer value,” she says. Over the years, she has worked with industrial clients, telecom operators, and IT vendors, always leading both sales and people. What has always driven her is the challenge of finding the best possible solutions for customers and creating real impact through collaboration. 

Driven by people and impact 
When asked what inspired her to take on this leadership role, Riikka emphasises her passion for developing organisations and teams. “For me, leadership is about creating the right conditions for both customers and employees to succeed. This role at ALTEN gives me a unique opportunity to do both: to help clients unlock the value of ALTEN’s combined engineering and IT expertise, and to support our teams in growing and thriving.” 
She also explains that being part of the executive team for the first time was a natural next step in her journey. It is both a challenge and an opportunity to contribute on a larger scale.

Tech and people: the perfect combination 
Technology itself is constantly evolving, and that’s exciting, but what really inspires Riikka is how technology can be used to solve real customer challenges. She often says, “Tech is easy, people are not,” meaning that success always comes down to how well we understand and serve people, whether they are clients or colleagues. What excites her the most is the combination: designing and delivering the right solutions that make a real difference for customers, while building teams that enjoy working together. 

Words to live by 
The best career advice Riikka has received? “Focus on people, and results will follow.” Riikka explains that no matter how advanced the technology or how complex the business is, at the end of the day success comes from strong relationships, trust, and collaboration. Keeping people at the centre, customers, colleagues, and teams, has guided her throughout her career, and it is something she tries to live by every day.
