Software Developer

At ALTEN Finland, we are looking for a Software Developer to strengthen our team in a long-term project. This position is suitable for you if you enjoy practical software development and test automation, thrive in an international environment, and want to work flexibly from anywhere in Finland.
In the project, you will participate in SCRUM-based development from sprint planning to retrospectives and system demos. You will be responsible for planning, implementing, and testing your own work, as well as delivering according to agreed sprint goals. The work includes software design, coding, unit and integration testing, and continuous improvement of development processes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participating in PI and sprint planning, retrospectives, system demos, and daily sync meetings
  • Designing and coding software using C/C++ and Python
  • Writing unit and integration tests and implementing automated tests with Robot Framework
  • Integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
  • Suggesting and implementing improvements to development processes to ensure productivity and quality
  • Delivering according to the agreed Definition of Done

What these tasks mean in practice
You will work independently and as part of a team, design and write code, ensure the software works as intended, and contribute to test development and execution. The position is fully remote within Finland, with occasional travel agreed separately.

We expect you to have

  • Experience with Embedded Linux environments and programming in C/C++ and Python
  • Familiarity with Bash scripting and GIT version control
  • Experience with Jenkins and Robot Framework
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practical experience
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Fluency in English
