Junior Project Lead – VIE Program

We are looking for a Junior Project Lead to join our team in Raahe or Oulu through the VIE program.
The VIE program is a French government–supported international assignment scheme that enables young professionals from France or the EEA to work abroad for 6–24 months while gaining valuable industry experience.

As a Junior Project Lead, you will play a key role in supporting project deliveries using the Alten Delivery Framework (ADF) methodology to ensure quality, efficiency, and high client satisfaction across all projects.
Depending on the project and your interests, your tasks may include:

  • Supporting project planning, scheduling, and risk management activities, ensuring alignment with the ADF
  • Acting as a liaison between project managers, team members, and stakeholders, scheduling meetings, distributing minutes, and providing regular status updates
  • Monitoring daily tasks, coordinating team activities, and tracking project progress to keep everything on schedule
  • Assisting with budget and resource management, ensuring the project stays within budget and coordinating allocation of staff, equipment, and materials
  • Identifying potential roadblocks, issues, risks, or conflicts, and helping develop mitigations or solutions, escalating to the project manager when needed
  • Delivering excellence with project leaders and teams on time, on budget and with high quality – using the ADF

The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:

  • A relevant education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in software engineering, engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • Interest in coordination or project support roles, preferably in a technical or engineering environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management software (MS Project, JIRA) and understanding of waterfall and agile ways of working
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A proactive, independent working style
  • Willingness to work in an international environment and adapt to new settings

VIE Program Requirements:

  • Age 18–28 (assignment must begin before your 29th birthday)
  • French or EEA nationality (excluding Finnish nationals for this role)
  • Registered on the VIE portal before age 28
  • No previous VIE assignment
  • Compliant with national service obligations (for French citizens)
  • A clean criminal record, as required for all VIE assignments
